Passiflora incarnata is an evergreen vine with climbing or trailing stems, native to southeastern United States. Purple passionflower grows to 4 m high. All of the Passiflora species have beautifully, complex flowers.
Passionflower has been used as folk remedy to treat nervous anxiety. In larger quantities it may have an mild hallucinogenic effect.
You can smoke the herb, it can also be drunk as tea. Steep 2 - 3 grams in 150 ml of hot water for half an hour. Drink this up to 3 - 4 times a day.
