Mandragora spp. are perenniel plants, indigenous to Southern Europe, North Africa and West Asia. The roots of this plants are somewhat carrot-like and can be up to 80cm long.
Propagation is by seed. Seed needs a period of cold moist stratification before sowing, germination irregular, often several months.
